Cookstown Rotary Club was chartered on Saturday 12 June 1971.

This was the culmination of a series of meetings after the idea of a Rotary Club in Cookstown was conceived in the autumn of 1970.

In 2001 a committee of the club published a comprehensive history of the first 30 years of the activities and members of Cookstown Rotary Club.
