MAY BALL SUCCESS
Once again the MAY BALL run by Cookstown Rotary Club has proved to be a resounding success both as a social and a fund raising event with over £6,000 raised to go to chosen charities.
On Saturday 10 May over 200 of the great and the good of Cookstown made the highlight of the social season an evening to remember.
This really was a fun packed night which included the following;
* Wine reception
* 4 course dinner
* Entertainment during dinner by " That Swing Thing "
* A heat of the Miss Northern Ireland competition with Cool FM DJ Pete Snodden
* A short talk on the work of the Lough Neagh Rescue which was the charity chosen by the club to benefit from the proceeds of the May Ball.
* Auction of some exciting and unusual items.
* Raffle for many prizes.
* Dancing to the wee small hours to Paul Cummings and his band.
Guests from other Rotary Clubs included Shirley Collier,secretary of Scarborough Rotary Club with whom Cookstown Rotary Club have recent links.
Such a great night does not happen by accident and much credit is due to the May Ball committee and particularly Rotarian Paul Creighton whose enthusiasm ensured success.
Well done Paul. Roll on next May!
