Shelter Box on view
The Shelter Box Trust set up by a Cornwall Rotary Club provides humanitarian aid worldwide in the form of shelter,warmth and comfort for people displaced by natural disasters. We are all aware of such recent disasters : Burma,China,Tsunami.Katrina etc.
Cookstown Rotary Club has funded several units and on 24 June members had the chance to see a typical box set up on the lawn outside the Glenavon Hotel after the lunch meeting. A shelter box holds a 10 person tent and other essential equipment designed to help an extended family survive for at least 6 months.
