Visit by District Governor 2010
Our club was honoured to receive a visit from District Governor, Wes Armstrong, at our lunchtime meeting on 3 August 2010. We were the 23rd club that Wes had visited during his year of high office. He spoke to members about the challenges of the second 100 years of Rotary in Ireland and urged us all to be proud to be members of such a great worldwide organisation. He said it is not just about fundraising but working in the local community and this ties in with this year's theme of BUILDING COMMUNITIES BRIDGING CONTINENTS.
On the world scene he emphasised the need for a final push by Rotary to eliminate polio.
Many of his 5 themes have been incorporated in our programme for the coming year. He ended his talk on the 3 F's of Rotary; FUN, FELLOWSHIP
AND FULFILMENT !
Wes presented President Paul with a banner for the club and by strange coincidence the District Governor won the wine draw!
